Holly Hunter is an American producer and actress who has been recognized for her high-quality performance in movies such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. Her film Piano earned her an Oscar. She began her career as an actress on Broadway and Off Broadway. The actress has always had an interest in acting since she started school. The first time she appeared in a production in fifth grade was Helen Keller. After suffering from the mumps, she went blind on the other side the ear. But, it was not enough to stop her desire to become an actor. After studying drama in college, she moved into New York City with her plans to achieve them. She met Beth Henley in an elevator and they collaborated on Broadway Crimes of the Heart the first movie Hunter made. After moving from New York to Los Angeles, Hunter tried to land films to play. The role of a supporting actress was found for her in Swing Shift. For the past 30 years, she has appeared on many TV and film shows. Holly Hunter is a Hollywood Walk of Fame celebrity and has been awarded the Women in Film Lucy Award.
